Week of June 22nd, 2020

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” ―John Lubbock

Health Professions Advising Interview Workshops
We are planning two health professions interview workshops for fall 2020. The workshops are designed for any student applying to a human (MD/DO, Pharmacy, Dentistry, PT, OT, etc) or animal (Veterinary) program. The first hour will cover basic information: types of interviews, what to wear, how to prepare, tips. The second half will be a practice session. While everyone is welcome, the workshops are geared to students who are applying this year. At this time, you do not need to RSVP – simply mark your calendar for the workshop you plan to attend. Both workshops are scheduled to be in-person but we may need to change them to a virtual format in which case we will make that announcement here.
Thursday, September 3rd | 5:00 – 7:00 pm | Stadium 1205
Thursday, November 12th | 5:00 – 7:00 pm | Stadium 1205

The AAMC and Pearson VUE have decided to offer in-person exams in June and will report scores approximately two weeks after testing. There are still many test dates remaining in 2020 with more than 14,000 appointments in June and July and more than 60,000 appointments in August and September. You can always find more information about the impact of coronavirus on the MCAT Exam here.
