The mission of Adam’s Camp is to realize the potential and develop the strengths of children and young adults by bringing together individuals and families with professionals and volunteers to collaboratively provide customized, intensive therapy, family support, and recreation in a camp environment. Our summer programs are held at Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, Colorado. Early Start programs are held in the Denver-Metro area and Adventure Camp Weekend Retreats are held in varying locations.
Camp Wapiyapi is a summer camp for children facing childhood cancer and their siblings offered at no cost to their families. Every kid deserves an unforgettable camp experience — the chance to run, laugh, and play with other children. At Camp Wapiyapi, through week-long summer camp sessions near Woodland Park, children who are dealing with childhood cancer can experience those very things — at no charge. Through our unique camp experience, patients and their siblings, between the ages of 6 to 17 years old, can regain a normal childhood filled with laughter, adventure, and fun. A special kind of healing happens when they are creating a lifetime of friends surrounded by a supportive, caring community. Wapiyapi is a Denver-based nonprofit organization offering an exceptional camp experience that fosters friendships, fun, and healing outside of the hospital for families facing childhood cancer. Cancer steals a child’s sense of normalcy and independence, but Wapiyapi gives that back. At Camp Wapiyapi kids can leave cancer behind for a week and instead focus on friendship, community, and endless fun! It’s amazing to see kids smile and stretch their wings because camp allows them to be who they want to be. Healing does not always happen in hospitals. At Wapiyapi we establish additional circles from which families may draw the strength, support, and inspiration necessary to continue healing.
Roundup River Ranch offers old-fashioned, pure fun camp experiences for children with serious illnesses and their families. At our beautiful Colorado ranch and through year-round activities, we offer our campers and families the chance to enjoy the most extraordinarily ordinary joys of childhood. We make campers with serious illnesses feel like ordinary kids. Giggling, laughing, conspiring, arrow-shooting, horseback-riding, art-creating kid. We help campers and their families enjoy the gift of extraordinarily joyful moments, lasting friendships, newfound courage, and memories that remain long after the last s’more is devoured. With full medical, physical, and emotional support from healthcare professionals, trained staff, and dedicated volunteers, campers and their families have the peace of mind to simply live in the moment and have fun. While we focus on the fun of living life large we also understand the very real needs of our campers. When medical support is needed, it is immediately provided – expertly, with compassion, and with as little disruption as possible to the camper’s activities. We think nothing of venturing out on a canoe to administer a medication at the correct time, rather than make a camper come in from the fun.
