All health professions programs are academically competitive. Schools do not prefer a particular undergraduate major so you can choose any major and be eligible to apply as long as you complete the entrance requirements. Academically, most schools require specific prerequisite courses and a minimum GPA. Each health profession school has different entrance requirements so it is the student’s responsibility to check with each professional school in order to determine specific pre-requisites courses and equivalencies for each institution. Most programs require a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA to apply, and we encourage students to maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA to be competitive. Check with each institution and program for a more accurate understanding of GPA guidelines.
The pages here provide lists of CSU courses that are the most common prerequisites for each given health profession. Always check with individual institutions to verify prerequisite guidelines.
