 Health Professions Advising welcomes new advisor Sarah Bradley!

 Health Professions Advising is excited to welcome Sarah Bradley (she/her/hers). Sarah will be serving as a Health Professions Advisor. She is a graduate of UNC’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program and has an undergraduate degree in Public Health. She spent the last year as a Career Counseling Intern at CU Boulder. Sarah will be working in-person 3 days a week. 




The UCHealth Volunteer Program has informed us they will accept a limited number of volunteers at their Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH) location in Fort Collins. This is in addition to the Medical Center of the Rockies location (MCR) in Loveland. They are also looking for students to volunteer at the food pantry at the Family Medical Clinic on Lemay and Pennock St. during the times listed at the end of the email.


 CSU students who have completed a minimum of 60 college credits are eligible to apply and the timelines will remain the same:


 August 28th -at midnight is still the deadline for all pre-applications 


PVH’s location is convenient for students who may not have the ability to travel to MCR. Please indicate on your pre-application whether you are applying for MCR, PVH, the food pantry. or any combination of the three.


 If you are accepted to volunteer at the PVH Location or the family medical clinic food pantry there will be no group information session. Please email your health professions advisor or advising_hp@mail.colostate.edu for a pre-application . Students selected for the MCR location will still be required to attend a mandatory Informational Overview Session on Wednesday September 28th at 4:30pm in person at MCR.

Rehabilitation Therapy Club (OT and PT)

The Rehabilitation Therapy Club creates opportunities and support for Pre-Health
students interested in career paths such as Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
Membership is open to all CSU students and anyone is welcome to join club meetings! We provide shadowing opportunities, volunteer opportunities, and information on
application/interview processes for rehabilitation graduate programs. We also have visits from graduate school admissions representatives like CU Anschutz, CSU, Regis, and more, and current industry professionals. Vet Teaching Hospital - Vet Teaching Lab

Opportunity for work and volunteering with a vet education lab at the TMI at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in the Continuing Education Department. We are looking to hire undergraduate or graduate students who are in their second year or above; as well as looking for anyone interested in volunteering in all levels of school.


General duties include lab set up and tear down including, cadaver prep work, observation of lab and assisting participants when needed, laundry and other miscellaneous general tasks.  Please email Payne Pachuda you would like to apply or if you have any additional questions.

Dr. Sherket B. Peterson Scholarship for Underrepresented Minority Students Pursuing Healthcare Careers
Scholarship provides financial aid in the form of a $3000 scholarship and mentorship to further the education of underrepresented minority (URM) students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. The scholarship honors program alumni who are interested in pursuing a career in a field that will enhance health research or innovation and have the potential to impact the world. One student will receive a $3000 award and one-year of mentorship. A portion of the award, $2500, will be distributed to the awardee’s US college or university on their behalf for tuition expenses and $500 will be distributed directly to the awardee for other educational expenses such as books and/or laptops, grad school applications, etc.
Application Opens: August 15th

-Enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university and have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate studies (rising juniors and above)
-Maintain good academic standing
-URM pursuing a career in healthcare
-Alumnus of the program (SHPEP, SMDEP, SMEP, or MMEP)
-Demonstrate a drive to succeed in their pursuit of a health career, leadership, a passion to create change in their community
-Demonstrate a commitment to advancing new ideas, concepts, approaches, policies, programs, technologies, potential treatments, or products, that improve healthcare and health disparities.
