Relevant Virtual CSU Opportunities

The President's Leadership Program (PLP)/Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies Minor applications are now open
This program is looking for current students for a summer online course and RI courses for next academic year. Students must apply in order to participate in PLP and earn an Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies Minor. In an effort to erode barriers for students wanting to earn the minor, summer asynchronous online IU 170 & 171 courses have been added. There‚Äôs a special summer application for any student who has not had ANY PLP/Leadership Minor courses. This is a great course for first-year students going into their second year who want to learn more about leadership theory. There is no GPA or major requirement to apply. Classes are Tuesdays 4-6pm or 6-7pm. Learn more, and apply here and/or attend one of the info sessions linked below.

Columbia University Incarceration and Bioethics Webinar: Health Challenges that Need our Attention
Columbia's Bioethics M.S. program, in conjunction with the Center for Clinical Medical Ethics in the Department of Medicine, invites you to a lecture with guest speaker Dr. Homer Venters, a physician and epidemiologist working at the intersection of incarceration, health, and human rights. Dr. Venters has recently been appointed to serve on the Biden-Harris COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force. Since April 2020, Dr. Venters has focused on addressing COVID-19 responses in jails, prisons, and immigration detention facilities. Dr. Venters is the former Chief Medical Officer of the NYC Correctional Health Services and author of Life and Death in Rikers Island. Dr. Venters has also worked in the nonprofit sector as the Director of Programs of Physicians for Human Rights and President of Community Oriented Correctional Health Service. Dr. Venters is a Clinical Associate Professor of the New York University College of Global Public Health. Learn more, and RSVP here.

This event is open to all students from surrounding Colorado universities. Current MD/PhD students from the Anschutz School of Medicine will answer questions about why they choose a combined degree program, what a day in the life of an MD/PhD student is like, and what makes an application competitive for MSTP and other MD/PhD programs. Pawsibilities in Vet Med
This nonprofit organization is dedicated to the recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups into the veterinary profession. Pawsibilities aims to connect individuals from underrepresented backgrounds interested in the veterinary field to mentors, resources, and opportunities for professional development. Upon completing an introductory training, members gain access to web and mobile platforms, which include a network of mentors and advisors, as well as real-time and recorded webinars to help them build a variety of professional skills.
