Week in the Life of an SHPEP (Summer Health Professions Education Program) Scholar
SHPEP is a free summer enrichment program focused on improving access to information and resources for college students interested in the health professions. SHPEP’s goal is to strengthen the academic proficiency and career development of students underrepresented in the health professions while preparing them for a successful matriculation to health professions schools. During this session, attendees will hear directly from program sites, who are reviewing applications, to learn more about what they have to offer and how they will implement the program. You’ll also receive the perspective recent SHPEP scholars to give you their insights about the program. SHPEP will again be 100% virtual for Summer 2021. Learn more, and register here.

University of Maryland PharmD Student Financial Assistance Session
The Assistant Vice President of Financial Aid will discuss tips and best practices in applying for financial aid and budgeting loans when planning, applying, and entering into the Doctor of Pharmacy program. This session will cover: FAFSA Review, using the Budget Tool, average loan debt, components of an award package, and disbursement schedule. Gates Summer Internship Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (GSIP)
Established in 2015, GSIP is a comprehensive summer program that encourages outstanding undergraduates to consider careers in biomedical research and regenerative medicine. Project Horseshoe Farm Community Health Fellowship
Fellowships are for top graduating college students (or recent college graduates) interested in learning about community health leadership, participating in innovative approaches to improving local health and education systems, and contributing to broader strengths in local communities. Accepted Fellows receive free housing, an educational grant of $700-$1000/month (site dependent), and valuable experience. Learn more, and apply here.

Cleveland Clinic Medical Observation and Scribe (MOST) Fellowship
The program is in collaboration with Stanford and is directed towards premed students looking to gain clinical experience through medical scribing with a physician/provider mentor at the clinic. This 12 month clinical post bac program also includes hands on clinical workshops across different medical specialties, research opportunities, team building, and professional development/premed advising. It is also a huge benefit for provider satisfaction and quality of life for our CCF providers. This program is led by myself and Dr. Sandy Hong, an Allergist and Regional Medical Director at the clinic.
