"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success." -Henry Ford

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) strongly believes that the various costs associated with applying to medical school should not be a barrier. They are committed to helping aspiring physicians on their journey to medical school and wanted to remind you of the changes  made to the 2020 AAMC Fee Assistance Program to help premeds navigate the process during these especially challenging times.

Relevant Opportunities for Pre-Vet Students

Canine Blood Donor Recruitment
The CSU Vet Teaching Hospital has its own animal blood bank! Recently they have been running low on A- blood, the universal type for dogs. They are recruiting new canine hero blood donors. Canine donor requirements: at least 55 pounds, never had a previous blood transfusion, healthy and up to date on vaccines, 1-10 years old, and good temperament. If you are interested in your pup (literally) saving lives, the first step includes a basic screening. We draw a blood sample for blood typing and infectious disease screening at no charge to you. Once admitted to the program, they are able to donate as often as every 6 weeks. You will be compensated with one bag of dog food (anything through Hills or Purina, including prescription diets) per donation. Also your dog will get lots of love (and cookies). They are especially looking for Greyhounds and Shepards but all dog breeds are welcome! To schedule a time for your dog to be screened or if you have any questions please contact Rae Isdale.
