Cytotechnology at Philadelphia University & Thomas Jefferson University:
Cytotechnologists work with medical pathologists to investigate cells to diagnose and prevent diseases, including cancer. Their findings can both diagnose and prevent cancer, because they are able to detect pre-cancerous cells before they become malignant. A cytotech degree offers career opportunities in a growing job market that includes clinical, research, commercial and cytology laboratories. Salaries range from $60,000 to $80,000 per year. The cytotechnology program at Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) emphasizes cellular, molecular and immuno diagnostics, as well as modern management and education. This combination of science and real-world skills gives Jefferson grads an advantage. Our program is accredited the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), in collaboration with the Cytotechnology Programs Review Committee of the American Society of Cytopathology. Students can request information here. If you have questions about the program or admission process, please contact Donald Sharples, Donald.Sharples@jefferson.edu or 215 503-1044. For our Fall 2018 cohort, and if students are accepted by May 1, 2018, we will award them a scholarship!
