Feb 21: HPSA Medical Branch Pre-Optometry Club Meeting, 5-6pm, Stadium 1213. Dr. Eddy, a local optometrist, will be speaking and sharing information about the optometry profession.

Feb 21: HPSA Medical Branch Premedica Club Meeting, 6-7pm, Stadium 1204. Chiropractor Joey Jennings will be delivering a motivating, inspiring, and empowering presentation on pursuing a career in health professions.

Feb 21: TOLMAR Application Event, 4pm, LSC Room 310. Join for a session on TOLMAR’s internships and full-time positions. TOLMAR is a pharmaceutical development and manufacturing company located in Fort Collins and Windsor. This event is to help you learn from a TOLMAR HR professional on what they look for in great resumes and application pieces.

Feb 23: Free Online MCAT Science Lesson from ExamKrackers, 6:30pm. Free Online Classroom Session with one of Examkrackers topMCAT Instructors. Get insight on how Examkrackers teaches the MCAT and how you can study smarter, not harder. Seats are limited. Register here.

Feb 24: Little Shop of Physics Open House, 10am-4pm, LSC 3rd Floor. Free and open to the public. Hands-On Science Fun for All Ages. With over 300 experiments, liquid nitrogen ice cream, the million volt Tesla Coil, science partners and presentations!

Other Dates to Note:

Mar 6: Colorado Center for Medical Laboratory Science (CCMLS) Information Presentation (Microbiology A101, 5pm): This meeting will provide an introduction to CCMLS as well as present information regarding the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) field. The CCMLS program is an eleven month post-bachelor degree program designed to prepare students to work in clinical laboratories around the nation and to be eligible to sit for the board of certification exam (a national requirement to work in clinical laboratories). Mar 29: CSU Career Center Health Sciences Industry Tour, 7am-5pm, meet in LSC 120 Career Center Classroom. The Industry tours are an incredible opportunity to network, learn about the organizations' cultures, participate in hands-on activities, and meet alumni in the field. To Register: first sign up for the even on Handshake, then sign up at the Career Center front desk with a $20 deposit (cash or check) with will be returned to you on the morning of the tour. These tours are typically very popular and fill up FAST. Since we can only take 32 students on each tour we encourage you to reserve your spot ASAP at the Career Center front desk with your deposit.


Program Opportunity: 

Undergraduate Pre-Health Program: Participants will engage in a 13-month program that exposes students to professional and career exploration. Topics include health care equity/disparities within various communities, career development workshops, and educational development workshops. Sessions are led by distinguished University of Colorado faculty, staff, and students, as well as Kaiser Permanente physicians and staff. Sessions will consist of lectures and demonstrations. The deadline to apply is May 10th. More information here.
