Truman Scholarship Virtual Information Session
The Truman Scholarship is a prestigious nationally competitive award given to juniors. Competitive candidates of this award will have: 1) demonstrated a commitment to a career in public service, 2) displayed leadership or engaged in consensus building on campus or within their home communities, and 3) maintained a high GPA. Awardees receive: $30,000 for graduate school expenses, optional participation in the Truman Summer Institute, a Washington D.C. based internship program available only to Truman Scholars and lifelong membership in an active and growing network of alumni. Career Center Diversity Connect: Summit Event
The Diversity Connect event offers CSU students an opportunity to make connections with employers and learn about their diversity and inclusion practices. The goal is for students to have the opportunity to connect with employers and identify ones that match their values and support their development. The event will include a Keynote address by Patrice Palmer, Director, Social and Cultural Inclusion Adjunct Faculty, a panel of employers answering questions about their company’s inclusion practices, a panel of student organization sharing their accomplishments with employers and an open connecting time. Relevant Opportunities for Pre-Vet Students

CSU Translational Medicine Institute (TMI) is seeking pre-vet volunteers
that are interested in helping with various CE courses coming up.  General duties include lab set up and tear down including some cadaver prep work, observation of lab and assisting participants when needed, assisting with sedation and anesthesia, laundry and other miscellaneous general tasks.  Please reach out to Amy Joesten if you have any additional questions. Vet Teaching Hospital (VTH) Foal Care Team is seeking pre-vet volunteers
Do you want to get more hands-on experience with horses and learn how foals are cared for in the ICU? Join the 2021 Foal Care Team and learn what goes on behind the scenes in the equine neonatal ICU at the VTH. We're looking for experienced senior undergraduate students interested in helping out alongside the veterinary students to help monitor foals in the ICU at the VTH. This is a great resume-building experience and a unique opportunity to spend more time at the VTH. The 2021 team will begin watching foals in January and continue until the end of the semester. Each team member will be assigned to one shift on a specific day of the week, every other week. Each shift is 3 hourslong. Shifts will run from 4pm to 7am on weekdays, and for a full 24 hours on weekends. You will only be required to come in when there is a foal in the hospital.
