The Long Fix: Solving America's Health Care Crisis with Strategies that Work for Everyone
This new book for pre-health students was written by Dr. Vivian Lee, a former medical school Dean, health system CEO and current executive at Alphabet (Google). It’s written to help students understand how our health care system works, to highlight the many roles that physicians and other health care professionals can play (private practice to pharma executive, rural family medicine to state health commissioner, and more), and to give students the background they need to be confident going into interviews that they understand the business they are getting into, especially when the nation’s attention is focused on health and health policies. It’s not a textbook, it's full of stories from the frontlines and reviewers often make comments like: “an easy to understand and very engaging book on the challenges facing the US health care system. Learn more on Dr. Lee's website.
